Magnetite Powder

Magnetite powder is a high-density, finely milled iron oxide (Fe₃O₄) used as a heavy media in coal washing and mineral separation processes.

 

In Indian coal washeries, it plays a critical role in dense medium separation (DMS), where it helps separate valuable coal from impurities based on density differences.

 

The consistent particle size, high specific gravity (~4.8–5.1), and magnetic properties of magnetite ensure efficient separation, minimal loss, and easy recovery via magnetic separators.
